March Mojo Monday

This past Mojo Monday we did four cards. I really wanted to do a couple of birthday cards and I remembered seeing what I call “the Dresser Card” (thank you Jackie Topa) for the card idea. Then I thought I should also do a masculine card. So here are the two cards that we did.

The next two cards were timely cards for Saint Patty’s Day and Easter. For the St. Patty’s Day card, I used the heart shaped stamp from the Sale-A-Bration Sprinkled Expressions set and the sentiment was from a retired set. KISS, keep it sweet & simple.

I like to think Missy is a bit of the Irish and goes nicely in this photoe with her red hair.

For Easter, I truly loved the simplicity of the Easter Dove single stamp and its wording “He is Risen”. Plus, I wanted to use the wings of the Elegant Bird die (which as I stated before I just love) with the Glitter paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I knew all of these products should be used together and this is my finish product.

My biggest regret is that I don’t know how to take better pictures with my camera. Thanks for stopping by.

Saturday Scrappers - Love Bird Pages

This Scrappers workshop was pages for Valentine’s Day, but with a bit of a twist. I did not go all Lovey Dovey, but I did go to the birds, Love Birds that is. (I know not too witty, but hey I am a stamper not a writer). Starting with two new dies I really love, the Elegant Bird and the Heart Collection Framelits; the four pages we completed were all about the Dies, Framelits, and the Textured Embossing Folders from the current Occasions Mini Catalog.

Along with the dies and embossing folders, I also used a lot of punches, borders and the smaller Sizzlits dies for the butterflies and smaller hearts.  We did not do a lot of stamping with these pages except for using the Take it to Heart and Loving Thoughts stamp sets, also in the mini catalog. Also, the DSP used were previous Stampin’ Up paper that I thought work well together.

It's a Party!

That is what it is when I get together with my Saturday Scrappers. We are not a large group of gals but we are fun! Plus with these pages, we are preserving our family memories for years to come.  This month l had a request for Birthday Pages. I took that challenge because what do we have every year - Birthdays!

I knew that I wanted to do pages that could be used for a more feminine birthday,  a boy and/or a younger birthday.

Some of the fun punches and dies that I used were the Pennant, Cupcake, Scallop Edge Border Punches, and the infamous Top Note die, (love that die). To make the larger cupcake I used the Two Tags die, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder and then the Crimper for the cupcake paper wrapper. Simple!

Love "was" in the air

Why did I say “was” in the air you ask? Because I am posting this blog so late! Valentine’s Day is gone; the flowers are wilted and should be tossed out by now. But, the cards we made are still beautiful and fun to look at and of course to share. 

First off, we made a fun card using the Take it to Heart stamp set. I like the playfulness of the young children on the bike.  Although it is not a bicycle built for two, they make it work. And really isn’t that what we do for love, “make it work”. I mean that in a good way, life does not always work out the best every time but if you are willing to make it work you can be happy and in (young) love. When life gives you lemons make lemonade.

Okay talk about FUN! This card was so much fun to make with my Mojo Gals. Starting with the fun shading for the ample bosom for the lady heart to the stateliness of the gentleman’s jacket, we were laughing all night long. What was interesting was the group’s interesting thoughts about the words; bosom, boobies, panties, etc. Life is so wonderful having unique friends. That is the best way, when everyone is so unique and brings so much fun to life!

Last, there was a cute birthday card using one of the “Packed for Everything – Birthday” stamp. There is a bundle of 4 individual stamps (Baby, Birthday, Dad and Mom) in the full bundle or you can purchase just one stamp, found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Cute, simple and colorful.

Also used for every one of these cards, there was the new Framelits Die, the Edgelits Die and/or Textured Impression Embossing Folders, all found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Keep watching for more examples of these great new die products.

January Saturday Scrappers

Wow, the holidays are gone. Some of the gifts have broken, been returned, or not even touched after the first half hour rush of excitement on Christmas morning. BUT, you can preserve that excitement with beautiful scrapbook pages. For this month’s Saturday Scrappers we utilized the Simply Scrappin’ Christmas Lane Kit from the SU Holiday Mini Catalog (sorry no longer available) and the Bigz L Die Holiday Stocking. You may remember I used this die in last months’ projects.  I think this will be a die that will be used annually. Oh, I used the Top Note die to make the sleigh truly fun. I really like using the SU Simply Scrappin’ kits from time to time. They are jammed packed with such wonderful stickers, card stock, and DSP. You just add the imagination!

January Mojo

For this month’s Mojo Monday we used some new stamp sets from the New Occasions Mini and Sale-a-Bration promotion catalogs. Shown here is a fun folded card where I used the Tea Shoppe stamp set. I have seen so many great cards using this set, I hope you enjoy mine.  Yes, that is a real tea bag inside the tea cup….it really makes the card smell delicious. I’m sorry BlogSpot does not have ‘smell-a-vision’.  

These next cards are using FREE stamp sets from the Sale-a-Bration catalog (starts this week January 24^th – March 31^st). I really love this first one. I used 3 products from the catalog; Fresh Vintage Stamp Set, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (DSP), and Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad Pack (yes, you get both the ribbon and brads in this product - LOVE IT!). I don’t fancy myself as a vintage kind of gal, but I do like the “Shabby Chic” from time to time and these products inspired me. The floral was hand colored with SU markers; I like how they went with the DSP. I used Friendly Phrases for the sentiment. 

This fun calendar card uses the Language of Friendship stamp set, which is a free set during Sale-a-Bration or can be purchased year round in the Big Idea catalog. I love this set how it coordinates with the Bird Builder and Boho Blossoms punches. Okay, I cased this idea from Janice, my upline manager, but isn’t that the biggest form of a compliment.

This week Janice is at SU leadership and I can’t wait to hear all about her trip.

Happy New (Crafting) Year!

So, 2011 has come and gone and here is 2012? And for the life of me I cannot come up with a good slogan for 2012, mainly because I cannot think of a good rhyme for twelve......besides delve. Nope, don’t like it.

I would like to share a little bit of my crafting corner and my latest addition that will help to inspire me in the coming year. My upline manager Janice made this really beautiful framed art piece for me and it now hanging in my crafting “Kat” corner. Thank you Janice.

Yes, I really have only a corner of a room that I sit and create in. I would love to have a whole room to myself (a girl can dream) but for now it is just a corner, okay it spills out into the rest of the room a bit. It’s really is a nice little corner; my husband put in an L-shaped Formica counter top, some open shelving and overhead lights. Plus this past December I acquired a small TV and cable hooked-up for my corner and now I can watch HGTV, Lifetime and all the “chick-flicks” I want while creating. And at any given time I usually have at least one kitty with me in my “Kat” corner. In this photo is Missy, she is my biggest "helper".

Okay what about: Twenty-twelve – don’t be shelved or: Feeling swell in 2012! Hmmm,  that might work – what do you think?
