Mojo Monday – Back on Blog and New Catalog!

I mentioned before that I was going to work on posting timelier blogs.
This month’s Mojo Monday is a great way to do that and to showcase some of the new products from the newly configured 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.
The first card we completed used the Forever With You stamp set. I just love this set and was happy we could purchase it as a sneak peak. This card also used the new Comfort Cafe’ DSP and two of the new In-Colors, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit (yellow). I like how the new color Summer Starfruit and an old favorite Cajun Craze go so well together. As you can see Missy was helping me again with this card.

FREEDOM.
This card uses two new sets, Blue Ribbon and Words of Courage. Another new item for this card is the Bitty Banner Framelits that I am sure you will see more of in the future. I used the newly designed firm foam ink pads and I just can’t say enough about them. They are great to use for a large solid stamp that I will be working on converting all my stamp pads to these new pads.

The last card is a combo of new colors and paper and a retired Hostess stamp set. I always wanted to use this set, but somehow never did. Again, the DSP for this card is the Comfort Café and the card stock uses River Rock and Midnight Muse.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Mother’s and Father’s Day!

This month, Saturday Scrappers pages were dedicated to Mom and Dad. The Mother’s Day layout uses the Twitterpated DSP. I am so glad SU decided to continue this paper in the new catalog because I just love the colors. For the flowers, we made them ourselves (see more about the flowers below). Yup we used the Flirtatious fabric and Twitterpated stock and they came out great. Also, a feminine touch was added with the Large Paper Doily die.

The Father’s Day layout was clean and simple like most dads’ I know. I saw the shirt idea on SUDSOL. Sorry I forgot who, but she had done a more tropical shirt with palm trees on it. It was great! I went for a more basic shirt – I think it looks kind of like a bowling shirt right? The stamp set used for the shirt is from the retired Grunge Rock. Remember the rocker chick birthday card from Mojo Monday? Well, I am glad I kept that set because it worked out great for this page

I know there are a lot of you that use the digital scrapbook programs, but I truly like the feel of paper and how the layers seem to add to the overall feeling.
If you would like to join my Saturday Scrappers group and create some memorable pages for yourself, I have a couple of openings. Just leave me a comment and I will get a hold of you.

Mojo Monday ~ Oh No!

Yup, it’s true. I have not posted my last Mojo cards for let’s just say a little while. I am not going to give any excuses, but I do want to share with all of you the cards that we have done recently.
So, some of the cards you will see here have been CASE by some really creative women, Janice Rosenthal-Rock (Heard you were sick), Patty Bennett (Mother’s Day), Jill Noland (Rocker B-day) and even one from the SU mini catalog (Wonderful You). With so much talent out there to inspire me, it is easy being a SU demonstrator. You, too, can have this much fun, but I digress.
Okay, back to the cards.  First off is the Wonderful You.  As I mentioned above, this sample was in the SU mini catalog. Did you miss it?  Are you going back to find it in your old copy? The sample was introducing the Simply Scored tool with the diagonal plate.  Do you see the score lines going through the grass?  I have really come to appreciate this scorer.  Yes, I have tried and had other brands (even one from the princess of crafting) and SU did this right. The butterfly uses the Blossom Flower Punch and Mixed Bunch stamp set.  After you punch out the flower, you cut two of the petals off and presto you have a fancy butterfly. I layered it with Melon Mambo underneath and then slightly curled the wings on top. The sentiment set used was the Loving Thoughts stamp set.  I like this card clean and simple.
Rocker Birthday, I knew I wanted to purchase and use this Grunge Rock stamp set.  I just didn’t know that it was going to be retired the month after I purchased it!  Oh well, I still like the set and plan on keeping it. This card was done before with a masculine color scheme.  I was inspired to be a little more Rocker Chick.  So, I went with the purples.
Sick as a Dog. Using another now retired stamp set, Wellness Wishes, and CASE card, I combined Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, DSP Autumn Vine and the Chocolate Chip Striped ribbon. Okay, the ribbon is going to be one of my most missed accessory items in the new catalog.  We colored in the sick puppy with SU watercolor pencils and then used a blender pen to smooth out the color.
Bling ~ Joy!  Using Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette card stocks, and a ton of punches, this card appeals to the girlie girl in all of us. The two versions show the basic pearls or the bling of rhinestones. Which one makes you joyful?
Happy Mother’s and Father’s Day! The Mother’s Day card is a double pocket card that I saw from Patty Bennett and is great for giving a bookmarker and then tucking in a gift card in the inside pocket.
The Father’s Day card uses the Packed for Dad for the block image and Best Dad Ever stamp sets for the additional tie on the front.  I also used the Stripes embossing folder.  This folder was introduced in the Occasions Mini Catalog and now has found its place in the new 2012-2013 catalog.

Thank you for stopping by and even if it hasn’t necessarily been the case lately, my intention is to Blog more often.  With that in mind, look for exciting SU updates, Convention news, and, let’s not forget, the new Holiday Mini catalog due out August 1st.
